Calle 24 Cancels U.S. Tour Dates After Work Visa Revoked
Mexican singer-songwriter Calle 24 has cancelled the remaining U.S. dates of his Eterno Tour after his U.S. work visa was unexpectedly revoked. The artist, whose real name is Diego Millán, announced the cancellation on Tuesday, Aug. 18 in a statement posted on Instagram, citing "unforeseen circumstances beyond my control related to the unexpected revocation of my U.S. work visa" (Billboard).
Seven U.S. performances are affected: Aug. 15 at Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas; Aug. 21 at The Underground in Charlotte, N.C.; Aug. 22 at the Tabernacle in Atlanta; Aug. 23 at House of Blues in Buena Vista, Fla.; Sept. 12 at The Aztec Theatre in San Antonio; Sept. 13 at 713 Music Hall in Houston; and Sept. 18 at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago. All were part of the Eterno Tour, a 15-city trek across the United States that Calle 24 had announced as his first solo U.S. headline run.
The tour had already completed its first seven shows, opening on July 30 at San Jose Civic in San Jose, California, and running through Aug. 14 at The Pavilion in Irving, Texas. Stops along the way included Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, California (July 31), SOMA in San Diego (Aug. 1), The Wiltern in Los Angeles (Aug. 2), and a date at Fillmore Auditorium in Denver (Aug. 9), according to Live Nation and VIP Nation listings.
In a video reel addressed to fans, Calle 24 said in Spanish that the Eterno Tour in the United States is cancelled until further notice because his visa was revoked, adding, "It's out of my hands." He stated that the revocation affects only his U.S. performances, and that all commitments and appearances outside the United States will continue as planned.
As of press time, the exact circumstances that led to the revocation of his work visa remained unclear. Billboard Español reached out to Live Nation and Street Mob Records, the label home associated with Calle 24, for comment; Street Mob Records shared the reel the artist had posted.
For fans holding tickets, the cancellation means refunds at the point of purchase, as is standard when a promoter pulls a tour date. For the crew and venue staff attached to the seven scrapped shows, it means lost work on what had been a running tour.
Calle 24 was named one of Billboard's Latin Artists on the Rise in 2023, the same year his breakthrough hit "Qué Onda" — a collaboration with Fuerza Regida and Chino Pacas — debuted at No. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 5 on Hot Latin Songs. He later earned his first Billboard No. 1 when his Fuerza Regida collaboration "Noche Perfecta" topped both the Latin Airplay and Regional Mexican Airplay charts in August of that year.
The Eterno Tour was announced in May as a 15-date run visiting 15 U.S. cities, scheduled to kick off in July. It was positioned as a milestone for the Regional Mexican artist — the first time he would headline his own U.S. tour rather than appear as a collaborator or support act. Just over halfway through, that run has now stopped, with no rescheduled dates announced.
