Apple TV+ has set December 2, 2026, as the premiere date for Bad Monkey Season 2, with ten episodes rolling out weekly through February 3, 2027. The first episode drops on a Wednesday, and one new instalment follows every Wednesday after that. Deadline

Vince Vaughn returns as Andrew Yancy, the former Miami police detective turned reluctant Florida Keys health inspector at the centre of the series. Season 2 sends Yancy into an all-new original story — a departure from the first season, which adapted Carl Hiaasen's New York Times bestselling novel of the same name. This time, Yancy witnesses the murder of someone described as Florida's finest fixer and is paired with a forensic accountant by an ambitious state attorney to crack the case. Deadline

Several familiar faces are back. Natalie Martinez, Charlotte Lawrence and John Ortiz all reprise their roles from the first season. Joining the cast are John Malkovich, Yvonne Strahovski and Zavior Phillips in newly announced parts. Deadline

The guest roster runs deep. Nate Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Brent Morin, Joey Avery, Dax Shepard, Sam Jaeger, Margarita Levieva, Peter Billingsley and June Diane Raphael all appear. Keyla Monterroso Mejia and Mo Amer have been tapped for recurring roles. Deadline

Bad Monkey is produced by Warner Bros. Television and developed by Bill Lawrence, who serves as showrunner and executive producer through his Doozer Productions banner. It is the latest collaboration between Lawrence and Warner Bros. Television for Apple TV+, following Shrinking and Ted Lasso. The executive producer roster also includes Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses, Vince Vaughn, Liza Katzer, Adam Sztykiel, Chris Downey and Carl Hiaasen. Apple TV+ Press Release, December 2024

Apple TV+ renewed Bad Monkey for a second season in a press release dated December 17, 2024. The first season earned Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh status, a designation the review-aggregation site gives to titles that meet a minimum critic-approval threshold. For fans, the shift to an original story means there is no novel to read ahead of the premiere. Whatever happens to Yancy next is uncharted territory.
