Jackbox Sets Release Dates for Trivia Murder Party 3 and Party Pack 12

Jackbox Games has nailed down two release dates that party-game fans have been waiting for. Trivia Murder Party 3 arrives 17 September, and The Jackbox Party Pack 12 follows on 15 October, the company confirmed on 19 August (Variety). Both titles received new trailers alongside the announcement.
Trivia Murder Party 3 sends players to a summer camp where the series' serial-killer trivia host has opened what Jackbox describes as "a camp full of trivia, murder, and outdoor enrichment" (Jackbox Games). The standalone title was originally slated for early access in late 2025 but was pushed into 2026, with Jackbox saying at the time it needed the extra time (Jackbox Games, Facebook). Party Pack 12, the latest in the annual compilation series Jackbox has released every year since 2014, will contain five all-new games (Jackbox Games).
The two releases are part of a broader 2026 strategy for the Chicago-based studio. Jackbox is expanding into publishing third-party games — it has already announced its first published title from an outside developer — and into standalone releases beyond the annual Party Pack format, moves aimed at growing revenue without raising prices on its existing audience (GamesBeat).
Jackbox is also building its own proprietary streaming technology, set to launch later this year, that would let players run Jackbox games directly on smart-TV platforms (Variety). A beta version is already live for users with Google TV or Fire TV compatible streaming devices (Jackbox Games). Jackbox announced the smart-TV push in April via its social media account, telling followers that eligible players would be able to stream select owned games (Jackbox Games, Threads). The games are currently available across 13 platforms (Variety).
The streaming push comes as larger entertainment companies have begun moving into casual games. Jackbox CEO Mike Bilder told Variety that Netflix and Amazon's shift toward casual gaming validates what his company has been doing for over a decade. Jackbox already has a partnership with Netflix, which offers a three-game pack called Jackbox Party Essentials to its subscribers, and previously ran a subscription channel on Amazon's Luna cloud-gaming platform (Variety).
VP of business development Andy Kniaz told Variety the company prefers the word "accessible" over "low spec" to describe its games — a distinction that matters when your audience plays using phones as controllers rather than dedicated gaming hardware (Variety).
For players, the next two months bring a steady drip of new material. A standalone murder-trivia game in September, a five-game party bundle in October, and a streaming platform that could change where the party happens — all before the year is out.
