Becky G Tells Playboy Her New Album 'Baraja Bendita' Is Her Sexiest Yet — and Refuses to Apologise for It

Becky G has given a wide-ranging interview to Playboy, published on 20 August, in which she discusses sex, womanhood and her fifth studio album, Baraja Bendita. The interview, titled "20 Questions: Becky G," appeared on Playboy's website, with Billboard reporting on its contents the same day.
In the conversation, Becky G described Baraja Bendita as her sexiest album to date and framed it as a refusal to separate her public persona from her private self. "Why is it that she's a lady in the streets and a freak in the sheets, but God forbid she talk about it," she told Playboy. "This is me as a woman. This is what I'm experiencing." Billboard
Becky G is 29 and first broke through at 17 with the pop single "Shower," released in 2014. Since then she has become one of the most visible figures in Latin pop, moving between reggaetón collaborations, solo singles and Spanish-language studio albums. Her two albums before Baraja Bendita were Esquinas (2023) and Encuentros (2024), according to Billboard.
In the Playboy interview, she credited the LGBTQ+ community as central to the spirit of dance and soul music and a significant source of inspiration for the new album. Billboard
The interview arrives four months after Becky G was featured on Billboard Español's 2026 Latin Women in Music cover story in April, where she received the event's Global Impact Award.
For listeners, Baraja Bendita — the title nods to a deck of cards and a blessed one at that — appears to position Becky G at a point where she is done compartmentalising. The Playboy platform, with its decades-long history of celebrity interviews, gives the discussion of sexuality a straightforward frame rather than a tabloid one, and Becky G uses it to talk about agency rather than image.
Playboy published the full "20 Questions" interview on its website. A release date for Baraja Bendita has not yet been confirmed in the sources reporting on the interview.
