Usman Ally Joins AMC's Silicon Valley Satire The Audacity for Season 2
Usman Ally has signed on as a series regular for the second season of AMC's The Audacity, playing a senior Silicon Valley lawyer named Byron Zandani — a man whose job, by the sound of it, is constantly putting out fires and wrestling with ethically murky decisions. The casting was reported by Deadline on 20 August 2026.
Season 2 is already in motion. Production began in Vancouver, British Columbia, in July 2026 — a month before the announcement — and the new season will run eight episodes, debuting on AMC in 2027.
AMC had renewed The Audacity in March 2026, ahead of the series premiere — a vote of confidence that meant the network ordered a second run before audiences had seen a single episode of the first. The series is created, written and executive produced by Jonathan Glatzer, and takes aim at the Silicon Valley bubble: the warped dreams, outsized egos and ethical lapses of self-styled inventors of the future. Billy Magnussen stars as a data-mining CEO who treats insight and influence as currency to be converted into profit and power.
The Season 1 cast reads like a comedy all-star roster: Zach Galifianakis as Carl Bardolph, Lucy Punch as Lili Park-Hoffsteader, Simon Helberg as Martin Phister, and Rob Corddry as Tom Ruffage (AMC). Meaghan Rath plays Anushka Bhattachera (AMC).
Ally is not the only new face arriving in Vancouver. Miriam Shor was previously announced as joining the Season 2 cast, and Sarah Goldberg is also on board (AMC).
Ally's television credits stretch across comedy and drama. He recently appeared in The Pitt and God's Favorite Idiot, and his earlier work includes Veep, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Suits, Nobodies, and On Becoming a God in Central Florida. On the film side, he has been seen in The Hunt and Superintelligence. Beyond acting, Ally wrote and directed the short film Emigre/Americana, which earned a Palm Springs Jury Nomination for Best Short Film, and he is currently developing a feature-length script based on that short.

For a show built on the premise that the people shaping tomorrow are often the least equipped to handle the consequences, a character like Byron Zandani — a lawyer navigating ethical grey zones on behalf of powerful clients — fits neatly into The Audacity's world. Ally has a long track record of playing characters caught between competing pressures, from political operatives on Veep to schemers on A Series of Unfortunate Events. Season 2 gives him a fresh sandbox of Silicon Valley dysfunction to work in.
Eight episodes, a Vancouver shoot, and a 2027 premiere. That is the slate for The Audacity's return — and the cast is still taking shape.
