The Pitt Season 3 Adds Seven Recurring Cast Members as Production Rolls On
The Pitt has added seven actors to its Season 3 recurring cast, filling out the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center with new patients, physicians and one hospital chief medical officer. Deadline reported the additions on 20 August 2026, naming Stephen Chang, Barry Clifton, Chris Diamantopoulos, Lawrence Kao, Brent Sexton, JB Tadena and Hannah Ware to the roster (Deadline).
Each new arrival comes with a role inside the fictional PTMC. Chang plays Mitch Connors, an Emergency Department patient. Clifton is David 'Bear' Burton, also an ED patient. Kao steps in as Harold Joslyn, another ED patient, and Sexton plays Daryl Oates in the same category. Ware rounds out the patient cohort as Charlotte Boyle. On the staff side, Diamantopoulos takes on Dr. Asher Grossman, the hospital's chief medical officer, while Tadena plays Dr. Reed Thomas, a PTMC physician.
These seven join six recurring additions announced earlier. In late June 2026, Deadline reported that Pruitt Taylor Vince, Malachi Beasley, Cheyenne Perez, Jeremy Radin, Charlz Williams and Rosanny Zayas had also been cast for Season 3 (Deadline).
The returning ensemble is led by Noah Wyle, who also serves as executive producer. Series regulars include Katherina LaNasa, Sepideh Moafi, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Shawn Hatosy, Taylor Dearden, Fiona Dourif, Shabana Azeez, Gerran Howell, Ayesha Harris and Supriya Ganesh. One shift to note: Azeez's character, Victoria Javadi, will not be in the ER when Season 3 returns — she has moved to a psychiatry rotation.
Season 3 is set on 12 November 2026, the day after Veterans Day in the United States. The series chronicles frontline healthcare challenges in real time, with each season unfolding hour by hour inside the ED. Wyle has said the new season explores doctors benefiting from being patients, and that weather in Pennsylvania will play a factor this time round.
HBO and Max Content renewed The Pitt for a third season on 7 January 2026 (TVLine). Production has officially begun, and HBO Max has released a brief teaser confirming the main cast.
The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. R. Scott Gemmill created the show and executive produces alongside John Wells, Simran Baidwan, Joe Sachs, Michael Hissrich and Eli Attie.
For viewers, the appeal is straightforward: a hospital drama that unfolds in real time, with each episode covering one hour of a single shift. Season 3's theme of doctors as patients suggests the staff of PTMC will be the ones needing care — a twist on the show's usual dynamic.
