HBO Max Reveals First Look at The Pitt Season 3: New Cast, New Setting, January 2027 Premiere

HBO Max has released the first-look images and a trailer for The Pitt Season 3, with the medical drama expected to premiere in January 2027 (Deadline).

Noah Wyle returns as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch, the attending physician at the centre of a series that follows healthcare workers through a single shift in a Pittsburgh hospital. The show is created by R. Scott Gemmill and produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

A large chunk of the Season 2 ensemble is back. Patrick Ball (Dr. Langdon), Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans), Fiona Dourif (Dr. McKay), Taylor Dearden (Dr. King), Isa Briones (Dr. Santos), Gerran Howell (Dr. Whitaker), Shabana Azeez (Javadi), Ayesha Harris (Dr. Ellis), Sepideh Moafi (Dr. Al-Hashimi) and Shawn Hatosy (Dr. Abbot) all reprise their roles.

Seven actors have joined the recurring cast for the new season: Stephen Chang, Barry Clifton, Chris Diamantopoulos, Lawrence Kao, Brent Sexton, JB Tadena and Hannah Ware.

Season 3 is set on November 12, 2026, the day after Veterans Day in the United States. Wyle has said the season is about doctors benefiting from being patients, with Robby beginning therapy and making fragile but positive progress. The January 2027 winter broadcast window also brings specific medical hazards, Wyle noted in May (ComingSoon/Facebook) — cold-weather casework that shapes what the emergency department faces on screen.

Before Season 3 arrives, TNT is running a catch-up event. Three episodes air back-to-back each Monday at 9pm ET/PT through December 29 as part of a special programming block (Warner Bros. Discovery press site). That gives newcomers a window to watch from the beginning on linear television rather than only on streaming.

Executive producers on the series include Gemmill, Wells, Wyle, Michael Hissrich, Erin Jontow, Joe Sachs, Simran Baidwan and Eli Attie.

For fans, the first-look images and trailer are the first concrete glimpse of where the story goes next, and the January 2027 target narrows the wait to roughly five months. The returning cast signals continuity in the emergency department, while the seven new recurring faces suggest the world of the hospital keeps widening.
