Colman Domingo will star in The Headlands House, a thriller limited series that has landed at Netflix for development in a competitive situation — meaning multiple platforms were vying for the project before Netflix secured it (Deadline).

The series follows a gay couple whose marriage begins to fracture after they move into their dream home, only to discover that the property's prior residents were brutally murdered — and that their own lives may be in danger (Deadline).

AMC Studios is producing. Cameron B. Dupont wrote the script and serves as executive producer. Domingo executive-produces alongside Raúl Domingo through their Edith Productions banner, and Patrick Moran executive-produces through his PKM Productions (Deadline).

The AMC Studios connection grew out of Domingo's existing relationship with AMC Global Media, where Edith Productions held a first-look deal — an arrangement giving a studio right of first refusal on a producer's projects (Deadline). AMC Studios has previously served as a production partner for other streamers' series, including Apple TV+'s Silo, which it developed and produced before Apple Studios took over the drama after its first season.

For Domingo, The Headlands House deepens an already substantial relationship with Netflix. He headlined the 2024 limited series The Madness, an eight-episode conspiracy thriller in which he played Muncie Daniels, a media pundit caught up in a murder investigation (Netflix Tudum; Variety). He also stars in the Netflix comedy series The Four Seasons, and his work across those two Netflix titles has earned him two Emmy nominations (Deadline).

Domingo's résumé beyond streaming is considerable. He received an Oscar nomination for his lead performance in the film Rustin. On television, he starred as Victor Strand on Fear the Walking Dead, which ran for eight seasons from 2015 to 2023 (Deadline).

For fans of Domingo's thriller work, The Headlands House pairs the actor with a genre he has already proven he can carry — a limited-series murder mystery built around a single protagonist. The premise shifts the stakes from a lone outsider stumbling into danger, as in The Madness, to a couple whose home and relationship are under simultaneous threat.

Netflix has not yet announced an episode count, production start date, or release window for The Headlands House. The project is currently in development.
