Bibio and Dorian Concept Announce Debut Collaborative Album 'Answers'
Bibio and Dorian Concept will release their first collaborative album, Answers, on October 16 through Warp Records. The 13-track record interweaves IDM — a style of electronic music characterised by complex rhythms and intricate textures — with folk guitar and field recordings, the captured sounds of everyday environments layered into the mix.
Two singles are already out. "Shame" arrived with a video on the day the album was announced, following "Lichen Trip," which also has a music video. Five videos accompany the album in total, made with a mix of digital and analogue video equipment (Pitchfork).
The project traces back to a single piece of footage. Bibio — the stage name of Stephen Wilkinson — watched Dorian Concept's visuals for the 2022 track "Let It All Go" and reached out, sparking a conversation about building something together across both sound and moving image. Dorian Concept is Oliver Johnson. The two first met in 2009, and in 2025 Wilkinson contributed guitar to Johnson's album Miniature, a stepping stone that led directly into the sessions for Answers (Pitchfork; Northern Transmissions).

Warp Records, the London-based independent label that has housed both artists' work, will release Answers in full on October 16. The album marks the first time Wilkinson and Johnson have released a full-length record together, despite a creative relationship stretching back nearly two decades.
For listeners who have followed either artist separately, the draw here is the meeting point: Wilkinson's folk-inflected guitar work and Johnson's ornate electronic production, fused into a single audio-visual project rather than a one-off collaboration track.
