Nili Lotan, the Israeli-born American designer who launched her brand in 2003, has tapped 25-year-old photographer Gray Sorrenti to shoot her fall 2026 ad campaign in TriBeCa, New York. The campaign centres on the brand's new Western Boot and pulls together denim, leather, suede and heritage aviation influences under what Lotan calls a modern Americana attitude WWD.

Lotan said she chose Sorrenti because the photographer is "a 25-year-old with an interesting story and an example of a young, determined woman." Sorrenti began photographing in her teens, has shot for Saint Laurent, and, according to Lotan, had not been doing well in high school before finding her path behind the camera. She previously photographed the rock band The Kills for Nili Lotan's fall 2025 campaign, a 1970s-inspired rock 'n' roll outing that highlighted black leather jackets, leopard-print shearling coats and the designer's then-new handbag line.

For the fall 2026 shoot, Lotan invited Sorrenti into her studio, where she shared the collection alongside books, images, vintage pieces and mood boards. The collaboration builds on a relationship that, according to the brand's website, goes back at least to a Pre-Fall 21 collection Sorrenti also photographed.

Lotan has never staged fashion shows. She communicates her brand voice through storytelling on her website, social media and her nine stores, rather than through the runway calendar that governs most of the industry. Past campaign photographers include the duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, among the most established names in fashion photography.

Her brand's design philosophy, as described on the "Nili's World" blog on her official website, is "sophisticated, timeless and trendless," with clothing crafted in luxurious Japanese denim. The fall 2025 campaign message framed New York dressing as "refined without feeling overdone, confident without trying too hard" Instagram.

The fall 2026 campaign arrives after a pre-fall 2026 chapter that leaned into Western Americana, featured The Kills, and included a one-week partnership between the brand and Thoroughbred New York. The new fall collection continues that Western thread, anchored by the boot that ties heritage, utility and a modern attitude together.

Lotan's clothes have been worn by Karlie Kloss, Jennifer Aniston and Sabrina Carpenter. The brand sits in the contemporary market — the tier below luxury's top houses but above fast fashion, where a single boot or jacket is meant to carry a customer through years rather than weeks.

What makes the Sorrenti pick worth noting is the generation gap it bridges. Lotan, who has built a two-decade business on quiet, timeless dressing, is handing the lens to a photographer who was in high school only a few years ago. The result is a campaign shot by someone still early in her career, selling clothes designed to outlast trends.
