Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition: Price and Release Date Leaked Ahead of Black Friday
A translucent green Xbox celebrating 25 years of the brand now has a price and a date — both leaked, not officially confirmed. According to a leak from Dealabs writer billbil-kun, reported by Video Games Chronicle, the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console will launch on Friday, 27 November — Black Friday — priced at €899.99 in Europe.
Billbil-kun estimated that the European price will translate to US$899.99 for American buyers. That figure has not been confirmed by Microsoft.
The console itself was announced in June. Microsoft's official product page describes it as a translucent "OG Green" case — a nod to the original Xbox's signature colour — with 1TB of SSD storage and a disc drive. It ships with a matching limited-edition green controller styled for the anniversary.
For comparison, the standard Xbox Series X — same 1TB storage, same disc drive, but a plain case and standard controller — now costs €799.99 in Europe following a recent Xbox price increase. That puts the anniversary edition at roughly €100 more than the stock model.
The standalone controller, called the Xbox Wireless Controller Special Edition X25, has its own release timeline. According to IGN, it launches on 20 October at US$79.99 / €79.99 / £74.99. Pre-orders go live on 26 August. Microsoft's product page confirms the controller works across Xbox consoles, Windows PC, iOS and Android, and features the same translucent design as the console.
For fans, the appeal is straightforward: this is a cosmetic variant of existing hardware, not a performance upgrade. The translucent shell and matching controller are the draw, along with the collectible nature of a limited production run.
What remains unconfirmed is the US price for the console itself, the full regional availability, and how many units Microsoft plans to produce. Xbox has not publicly dated a pre-order window for the console — only for the standalone controller.
The Black Friday timing is notable. It places a premium-priced limited edition on shelves during the biggest shopping weekend of the year, when retailers are already deep in discount season — though a limited anniversary console is unlikely to see the markdowns that standard hardware typically gets on that day.
Leaks from billbil-kun have carried a strong track record on Xbox hardware reveals in recent years. That said, until Microsoft confirms, these figures remain unofficial.
