Mireille Enos, Ella Bright and Jake Picking Join Indie Wrestling Drama 'Gable'
Mireille Enos, Ella Bright and Jake Picking have joined the cast of Gable, an indie film about Olympic gold medalist wrestler Dan Gable, Deadline reported on 21 August 2026.
Enos steps in to play Dan Gable's mother, Katie — a role previously held by Leslie Bibb, who exited to take a part in a major series. Bibb recently signed on for the Amazon romantic comedy Escorted, opposite Brett Goldstein. Bright plays Gable's sister, Diane. Picking's role was not announced. Deadline
The film tells the story of a working-class kid from Waterloo, Iowa who compiled a 181-1 record through high school and college and faced off against the Soviets during the Cold War. Finn Cole leads the cast in the title role, with Ben Foster and KJ Apa also starring.
Jon Greenhalgh is directing from a script he wrote with Michael Wallach. Shaun Redick and Yvette Yates Redick are producing through their Impossible Dream Entertainment banner, reuniting with Ben Foster after partnering with him and Woody Harrelson on the Oscar-nominated 2009 film The Messenger. Nate Adams and David Gould also produce; Andy Barth and Graham Manley serve as executive producers. Impossible Dream Entertainment is handling sales.
Enos is best known for the television series The Killing, Big Love, The Catch, Hanna and Lucky Hank, with film credits including Gangster Squad and World War Z. She appeared in the fifth season of Apple's For All Mankind and will star alongside Jon Hamm in American Hostage, premiering 20 September on MGM+.
Bright, born in New York City and raised in London, stars in Prime Video's Off Campus opposite Belmont Cameli. That series amassed 37 million views in its first seven days and is now in production on a second season. Her earlier credits include the British series Malory Towers, Netflix's The Crown — where she played a young Kate Middleton — and the 2018 film Holmes & Watson.
Picking broke out playing Rock Hudson in Ryan Murphy's Netflix series Hollywood, with additional credits including Showtime's The First Lady and Apple's The Greatest Beer Run Ever. He recently appeared alongside Kate Hudson and Drew Tarver in the second season of Netflix's Running Point.
For a film about one of American wrestling's most decorated figures, the cast now stretches across three streaming ecosystems and two continents — a sign of how indie productions are increasingly drawing talent whose profiles were built on platform television.
