Blackpink's Jennie will release her first solo EP, "Fallen Angel," on August 28, 2026, the singer announced through a teaser and official notice posted to her Weverse channel.

The three-track digital EP arrives at 12:00 a.m. EDT / 1:00 p.m. KST on Friday and will be available on streaming platforms worldwide, according to the release notice published on Weverse. The project is described as Jennie's first solo release, marking a step beyond the solo singles she has previously shared into a full, if compact, EP format — three tracks, digital-only.

Alongside the comeback date, a first music video teaser for the title track, also called "Fallen Angel," was unveiled, as reported by Soompi. The announcement also revealed the EP's cover art, according to Billboard.

Jennie is one quarter of Blackpink, the K-pop group that has ranked among the world's best-selling acts since its debut under YG Entertainment in 2016. The group's members have each pursued solo projects alongside group activities, a common structure in K-pop where labels often build individual artist profiles within an established ensemble. A "comeback," in K-pop industry terms, refers to a new release accompanied by promotional activity — not a return from hiatus, despite the word's English-language connotation.

The "Fallen Angel" release lands on a Friday, which aligns with the global standard release day for music: most streaming platforms and digital storefronts update their catalogues on Fridays at midnight local time, a schedule adopted by the industry in 2015 to synchronise worldwide releases. The EP's simultaneous 1:00 p.m. KST drop reflects the Korean music market's convention of releasing new music at that hour.

For fans, the teaser and cover art offer the first visual cues for the project's direction, though no further details about the remaining two tracks or additional music video content have been confirmed. The announcement gives listeners one week between the reveal and the release itself — a tight window by global pop standards but typical of K-pop rollouts, where teaser schedules often compress promotion into the days immediately preceding a drop.

The EP's title track shares its name with the project itself, suggesting a lead single positioned as the centrepiece of the three-track release. Whether additional teasers, concept photos or pre-release tracks will follow in the coming days has not been announced.
