Taylor Swift showed up at the Ross House in Los Angeles this month to make her case directly to Emmy voters, appearing at an intimate event in support of director Glenn Weiss and sound designer John Ross, both nominated for the Disney+ special Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show (Deadline).

Swift is credited as both producer and performer on the special, which picked up five Emmy nominations: Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Best Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a special (Deadline). The Television Academy's official bio page also lists her as a 2026 nominee for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) (Emmys.com).

The special captures the final concert of Swift's Eras Tour, shot in Vancouver, BC. It runs nearly three and a half hours, features 45 songs, and debuted on Disney+ on 12 December 2025. The full set of THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT appears for the first time in this version (Deadline; Disney+).

Glenn Weiss, the special's director, was double-nominated in the Emmy directing category this year — his second nod is for directing the 78th annual Tony Awards (Deadline). At the voter event, Swift praised Weiss for preserving a sense of escapism and freedom for fans, pointing to his rehearsal work with her and her dancers as what carried that feeling onto the screen (Deadline).

The special was produced by Taylor Swift Productions in association with Silent House Productions. Swift first announced the Eras Tour docuseries and The Final Show in October 2025 and released the trailer the following month (Deadline; Deadline). The project was also featured in the Television Academy's For Your Consideration events — the screening and panel circuit that campaigns use to reach voters ahead of the final round (Emmys.com).

Swift is no stranger to the Emmys. She won in 2015 for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for the AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience (Deadline). A win this year would be her first as a producer of a variety special.

For the creative team behind the special, the Emmy nominations are a recognition of the craft involved in staging and filming one of the most ambitious concert productions of the decade. For Swift, the appearance at the Ross House signals that she is treating the awards race as part of the job — showing up for the crew whose work put the show on screen.
