Taylor Swift reported for duty at the Emmy Awards without entering the building.

The singer made a surprise cameo in a pre-taped segment during the 78th Emmy Awards on Monday, Sept. 14, playing the new rookie on the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit team, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

She was not in the room. Swift did not attend the live telecast at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Her appearance had been filmed in advance, meaning it could play on the night while she was elsewhere.

Elsewhere was Arrowhead Stadium. Swift spent that Monday at the Kansas City Chiefs game, where she was spotted sitting with Tom Cruise.

The sketch belonged to host Mariska Hargitay. Hargitay appeared as Olivia Benson, her character from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, alongside her co-stars from the series. Swift joined them as the squad's newest recruit, a rookie being a first-year officer learning the job.
