Former West Brom Midfielder Quevin Castro Dies at 25 After Collapsing During Match in Portugal

Quevin Castro, a former West Bromwich Albion midfielder, has died at the age of 25 after collapsing during a pre-season friendly in Portugal.

Castro collapsed in the first half of Real Sport Clube's match against top-flight side Estrela de Amadora at the Estadio das Seixas in Lisbon on Saturday. The Lisbon Football Association (AFL) confirmed he passed away during the match. (BBC Sport)

A midfielder who came through Sporting Clube's academy in Portugal, Castro's career spanned both his homeland and England. He joined West Brom in 2021 and made his debut against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup — the English Football League Cup, a knockout competition open to clubs from the top four tiers.
