Scott Jamieson ends 14-year wait with Nexo Championship win in Aberdeenshire
Scott Jamieson won the Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire on 23 August 2026, finishing on 11 under par — two shots clear of England's Matthew Jordan. A final round of 67, the day's best pressure round, sealed a title that had eluded him for 14 years.
Jamieson is 42 and from Glasgow. His only previous DP World Tour (the European-based professional circuit, formerly the European Tour) victory came in South Africa in 2012. Since then: nothing, across more than a decade of tournaments. That drought ended on a links course perched on the Aberdeenshire coast, where wind and weather do as they please.
He got there the hard way. Rounds of 70, 71 and 69 left him within touching distance of the lead but not leading — a steady accumulation rather than a charge (WTOP). Jordan, the overnight leader, carried a narrow advantage into the final round and needed only to hold his position. He could not. What makes this stand out is the sheer stretch of time between drinks. Fourteen years between DP World Tour titles is a lifetime in professional golf, where most careers do not last that long. Jamieson kept his playing privileges year after year — the 'card' (tour membership that grants entry to tournaments) — without lifting a trophy. To win again at 42, on a Scottish links in the wind, is the kind of finish a career waited patiently to produce.
