Vince Staples Announces First Australian Headline Tour in Nearly a Decade for January 2027
Vince Staples will return to Australia in January 2027 for his first solo headline shows in the country in nearly a decade, riding the release of his seventh studio album, Cry Baby. The Long Beach, California rapper last headlined Australian dates in 2018, making the newly announced Cry Baby Tour his first standalone run there since Billboard.
The tour takes in four cities across the first week of the new year: Perth at the Ice Cream Factory on January 2, Brisbane at The Tivoli on January 5, Sydney at the Enmore Theatre on January 6, and Melbourne at the Forum on January 7. Untitled Group and Beyond the Valley are presenting the run, which is built around Staples' festival appearance at Beyond the Valley — a sold-out Victorian festival where he is billed among the headliners Billboard.
Beyond the Valley, now in its 11th edition, runs December 28, 2026 through January 1, 2027 at Barunah Plains in regional Victoria. The lineup is headlined by John Summit and the Black Eyed Peas, with Staples, Armand Van Helden, Overmono and Disco Lines also on the bill Billboard. The previous edition of the festival sold out in under an hour Billboard.
Cry Baby, the album the tour is named for, arrived in June via Section Eight Arthouse, Loma Vista and Concord — three labels sharing the release, a common arrangement for independent artists partnering with larger distributors. It is Staples' seventh studio album Billboard.
Tickets go on general sale Tuesday, September 1 at 3 p.m. AEST, following an Untitled presale starting August 31. The Sydney and Melbourne dates are ticketed through Ticketek under the show code BIGFISH27 Billboard.
For Australian fans of Staples' sharp, deadpan rap, the wait has been long. A nine-year gap between headline tours means a generation of listeners who discovered him through Cry Baby will be seeing him live on their soil for the first time.
