Warwickshire Police tried to stop a black Audi on Birmingham Road at 5:23 pm on Monday. The male driver refused to stop and drove toward the A46. The car then turned back toward Stratford-upon-Avon on the A439 Warwick Road. At 5:44 pm, the Audi collided with a white Ford Puma.
Paramedics pronounced the Audi driver dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Puma, a woman, was taken to hospital, where she remained in critical condition. Warwickshire Police confirmed that the families of both drivers have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
