The setting shift from New York City to the British capital is the first major relocation in the show's run.
The guest cast reads like a casting director's wish list. Tina Fey, Olivia Colman, Meryl Streep, David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan and Martin Freeman are all lined up for Season 6, according to Deadline. Fey and Streep have appeared in previous seasons; Colman, Tennant, Coughlan and Freeman are new to the series.
Steve Martin and John Hoffman created the show and continue as co-creators and writers. Martin stars alongside Martin Short and Selena Gomez as three neighbours who started a true-crime podcast to solve murders in their Upper West Side apartment building — and have been solving them ever since.
For fans, the London move signals a fresh canvas. Five seasons of the show have been rooted in a single Manhattan building; transplanting the central trio to a new city opens up an entirely different set of suspects, settings and comic dynamics, all with a roster of guest stars that few streaming series can match.
