Pragmata Is Getting Mega Man Skins, Capcom Confirms at Opening Night Live

Capcom confirmed during Opening Night Live that Pragmata, its upcoming sci-fi action game, will receive Mega Man franchise skins — described by the publisher as "coming soon." (VGC)
The crossover reveal came at the end of a new trailer for Mega Man Dual Override, a separate Capcom title whose 2027 release date was reconfirmed in the same segment. So fans of the blue bomber got two pieces of news in one cutscene: a fresh look at a new Mega Man game, and a cosmetic nod to the franchise inside a completely different one.
Pragmata producer Naoto Oyama was quick to draw a line between the two. He told VGC that Pragmata is "not a Mega Man game" but a completely new property from Capcom — the skins are a tribute, not a hint at shared canon.
That distinction matters because Capcom has been playfully blurring it for months. On 31 March 2026, the official Pragmata social channels posted an April Fools' Day video titled "PRAGMATA is a Mega Man Game? April Fools!" as Part 6 of the #PRAGMATAMoonBytes series across Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. The joke landed precisely because fans had been speculating about a connection between the two franchises since Pragmata was first shown.
For those keeping track of Pragmata's release timeline, the game has had an unusually direct path to its launch date. Capcom hosted a digital showcase called Capcom Spotlight on 5 March 2026, where a playable demo was announced for 17 April across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. Later that same day, Capcom moved Pragmata's release date one week earlier, from 24 April to 17 April 2026 — what the publisher's social team cheekily called "undelaying" the game. (Game Informer)
By the time 31 March rolled around, Pragmata was already less than three weeks from launch. The April Fools video served as both a running gag and a reminder that the long-awaited title was nearly here.
Capcom has been busy on the Mega Man front in other ways, too. The same March 5 Capcom Spotlight revealed that Mega Man Starforce Collection is releasing on 27 March 2026 — a bundle that repackages the Nintendo DS-era RPG titles for modern hardware.
For fans, the Opening Night Live reveal ties a neat bow on months of speculation and teasing. Pragmata players will get to dress up in Mega Man's iconic armour, Mega Man fans get a 2027 title to look forward to, and Capcom gets to celebrate two franchises at once on one of gaming's biggest pre-Gamescom stages.
