BritBox has dropped the official trailer for Agatha Christie's Tommy & Tuppence, a six-part series that pulls the detective duo out of their interwar setting and plants them firmly in present-day London. The show stars Antonia Thomas as Tuppence and Josh Dylan as Tommy, and it premieres on BritBox in the U.S. and Canada on 15 September 2026. Variety

This is the first contemporary English-language TV adaptation of Christie's Tommy and Tuppence stories. A 2015 BBC series, Partners in Crime, starred David Walliams and Jessica Raine in a period setting, but the new series moves the action to the here and now. Agatha Christie's official site

Thomas, known to audiences from The Good Doctor and Still Up, plays Tuppence as an actress and unstoppable force of nature who will not take no for an answer. Dylan, whose credits include Buccaneers and Mamma Mia 2, plays Tommy as a meticulous, charming crime writer. The pairing gives Christie's amateur sleuths a fresh professional texture: one lives by instinct, the other by the page. BritBox press

The supporting cast adds serious pedigree. Imelda Staunton plays Tommy's Aunt Ada, with Nicholas Richardson, Charlie Condou, Callie Cooke and Chizzy Akudolu rounding out the ensemble. Variety

Phoebe Eclair-Powell wrote the series and serves as executive producer. Fergus O'Brien directs the first four episodes; Ellie Heydon directs the final two. Stella Merz produces. Executive producers include Katie Draper, Laura Lankester, Louise Mutter, Juliette Howell and James Prichard, the latter being Christie's great-grandson and chairman of Agatha Christie Limited. The series comes from Lookout Point, part of BBC Studios, in partnership with Agatha Christie Limited. BBC Studios handles global sales. BritBox commissioned the series, with Robert Schildhouse, Jon Farrar and Stephen Nye leading the order on the platform's behalf. Variety

The project was first announced in June 2025, with BritBox sharing first-look images in February 2026. Thomas and Dylan later appeared at the ATX TV Festival for a conversation about stepping into the Christie universe. Variety, 2025 · Agatha Christie's official site · Variety, 2026

Tommy & Tuppence leads BritBox's fall 2026 slate, a line-up built around a familiar bet for the streaming platform: Christie's name, a glossy production, and a twist that asks lapsed fans to come back and new ones to try. BritBox press

For viewers, the pitch is straightforward: a beloved detective pair, reimagined for a modern city, streaming in just under three weeks.
