Banijay Closes All3Media International's New York Office After $8 Billion Merger
Banijay is shutting down All3Media International's New York office, laying off a handful of executives and parting ways with the division's top Americas executive, Jennifer Askin. The closure takes effect Friday, August 28, with all roles in the office made redundant, according to a report first published by Deadline.
The layoffs are small in number — single digits — but they land at the top of the division. Askin, who served as Executive Vice President of the Americas, informed colleagues of the closure this week. She had spent five years at All3Media International, having joined from Kew Media Distribution in 2021. She was promoted to EVP in August 2025 after the departure of her predecessor, Sally Habbershaw.
All3Media International is the distribution arm that licences scripted and unscripted series to broadcasters and streaming platforms across the Americas — meaning it sells the rights for shows to air in a given territory. The titles on its catalogue include Fleabag, Race Across the World, Ocean with David Attenborough, The Circle and The Traitors. Askin's deal-making during her tenure included selling the Gemma Arterton drama Secret Service to MGM+, the thriller Gone and Trigger Point to BritBox, Midsomer Murders and Brokenwood Mysteries to Acorn TV, and Race Across the World to PBS. She also worked closely with Canada's Bell Media on a local dual-language production of The Traitors.
The New York office closure is an early, visible consequence of a much larger corporate combination. Banijay and All3Media completed their merger in July 2026, creating an entity with an enterprise value of roughly $8 billion now known as Banijay Entertainment. The deal was first announced in March 2026, with RedBird IMI — the investment vehicle led by Jeff Zucker, who serves as chairman of the combined company — having acquired All3Media for $1.45 billion in 2024. Jane Turton, formerly All3Media's chief executive, is deputy CEO of the merged group. The combined company has its headquarters in London.
The two organisations are no strangers to each other's balance sheets. Back in 2019, when Banijay was closing in on a $2.2 billion deal for Endemol Shine — the group behind Black Mirror — All3Media had been in those negotiations too before dropping out in the final weeks.
For audiences, the merger puts Big Brother, Peaky Blinders and The Traitors under one corporate roof. For the small team in New York, the consolidation now means the end of the road.
