Nicole Kidman Plans to See Slovak Singer Adéla in Nashville — After Adéla Named a Song After Her
Nicole Kidman has said she plans to attend a Nashville concert by Slovak singer Adéla, whose debut album includes a track titled "Nicole Kidman." Kidman made the remarks at the London premiere of Practical Magic 2 on Wednesday, Aug. 26, as Billboard first reported.
Adéla is a Slovak singer and songwriter whose music blends pop, hyperpop and electronic genres. Her debut album, PRIMA, is scheduled for release on Sept. 4. The album's second track is called "Nicole Kidman" — a detail that presumably reached the actress herself.
Kidman told reporters she intends to catch Adéla's Red Bottoms Tour when it stops in Nashville on Sept. 21 at The Basement East, a 500-capacity venue in the city's East neighbourhood. The Red Bottoms Tour takes its name from one of PRIMA's lead singles; the other is "KGB," according to Adéla's Instagram.
Adéla has been building a chart profile this year. Her single "Ain't in LA" became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 — the weekly US singles chart that ranks the country's most-consumed songs across streaming, radio and sales — debuting at No. 85.
When word of Kidman's comments reached Adéla, the singer reacted through the fan account @adeladiary on Instagram. Her message, in full: "WOW OH MY GOD NICOLE WOW OH MY GOD HOLY SH– WOW."
For a rising artist still playing club-sized rooms, an A-list actress publicly naming your show as a destination is the kind of moment that no marketing budget buys. Whether Kidman follows through on Sept. 21 will be visible enough — The Basement East is not a venue where a Grammy-winning, Oscar-winning actor slips into the back row unnoticed.
PRIMA arrives Sept. 4. The Nashville date follows just over two weeks later.
