Anonymous Content Names Steve Shikiya as Chief Operating Officer

Anonymous Content has hired Steve Shikiya as its Chief Operating Officer, handing him oversight of day-to-day business operations across finance, corporate development, business affairs, and human resources. He reports directly to president and CEO Darren Walker, according to Variety.
Shikiya brings more than three decades of business experience to the role, and his résumé reads like a map of Hollywood's major players. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of North Road Company, the independent studio founded by Peter Chernin. Before that, he was Chief Operating Officer of Imagine Entertainment, where he aligned business operations across the company's film and television divisions and managed new business initiatives, as Yahoo Entertainment reported in 2016.
His career also includes a stint as Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Endemol Shine North America and dual COO and CFO duties at Shine Group North America — both major players in unscripted and scripted television production. Earlier roles spanned senior leadership at 20th Century Fox and executive positions at MGM Studios, Launch Media, Universal Studios, and The Walt Disney Company. He began his career at the accounting firm Arthur Andersen LLP.
Anonymous Content, founded in 1999 by the late Steve Golin, operates as both a production company and a talent management firm. Its stated mission is simple: "talent comes first," per the company's website. The company has built its reputation on filmmaker-driven projects, and a COO with Shikiya's spread across film, television, and corporate finance is being placed against that backdrop.
What makes the hire notable is the breadth. Shikiya has held senior operational and financial roles at companies spanning studio film, independent production, unscripted television, and streaming-era ventures. Few executives move across that many corners of the entertainment business and keep landing in the C-suite.
For Anonymous Content, the appointment fills a structural role at a time when production companies face mounting pressure from every direction — shrinking commissioning budgets, shifting release windows, and a streaming landscape that rewards scale. A COO with finance and corporate development chops sits squarely in the path of those pressures. Whether Shikiya's arrival signals a specific strategic shift remains unconfirmed; the company has not publicly detailed any such plans beyond the scope of the role itself.
