Almost every couple on Married at First Sight Season 20 said no on decision day — and the audience that watched it happen was the largest in the show's streaming history.

The Season 20 finale and reunion dropped on Peacock on 27 August, capping a run that began on 12 July. Of the couples who reached decision day, all but two chose to break up. Mecca Amen and BelléJolie Force said yes to staying married, but revealed at the reunion that they had ended the marriage shortly after filming. Cameron Mitchell and Michelle Le were the lone couple who stayed together and were still married at the reunion. Variety

The numbers behind the season are striking. Season 20 amassed over 1.8 billion minutes viewed on Peacock, according to Variety, making it the No. 4 highest-reaching original reality season on the platform. Total streaming was up 153% from Season 19. Nielsen ranked it a Top 3 reality title on streaming for five consecutive weeks. Variety

This was the first season fully produced for Peacock. Season 19 had aired on the platform but was not built from the ground up for it. The show spent its first 15 seasons on Lifetime before moving to Peacock during Season 19. Variety

Executive producer Chris Coelen, speaking to Variety ahead of the premiere, detailed a major overhaul: new experts, more aspirational casting, and elevated production values with grander weddings. The casting process alone involved five days in Seattle with hundreds of candidates, as experts, producers, and network executives collaborated on the final selections. Noah Samton, SVP of current production for Bravo and Peacock unscripted, oversaw the creative shifts alongside Coelen's team. Variety

The reunion also broke format. For the first time in the show's history, it featured a live audience — a shift that gave the decision-day fallout a public stage rather than the usual closed studio setting. Variety

Peacock scheduled the season deliberately. It premiered on 12 July, placed after the conclusion of Love Island USA on the same platform, a sequencing choice designed to carry one reality audience into the next. Weekly multi-episode drops ran through the 27 August finale. Peacock

Earlier in the season, Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard joked about going on Married at First Sight while reflecting on taking chances. Hubbard and Carl Radke called off their engagement and cancelled their wedding in September 2023. As of August 2026, Hubbard said she was "completely blindsided" by the end of their relationship, though she and Radke are now good friends. People; Bravo

For a show that has now aired across two networks and twenty seasons, the move to Peacock gave it a fresh production budget, a new cast of experts, and an audience that grew by more than half. Whether that audience returns for a Season 21 is a question Peacock has not yet answered.
