Avengers Endgame: Encore Trailer Pulls 77 Million Views in 24 Hours, Shattering Re-Release Records

The trailer for Avengers Endgame: Encore racked up 77 million views in its first 24 hours, more than four times the opening-day count of any previous trailer re-release, according to Deadline.
To put that number in perspective: the re-release trailer for Top Gun (1986) earned 19 million views in its first day ahead of that film's 40th anniversary theatrical run in May 2026. James Cameron's Avatar pulled 14 million. Titanic managed 13 million. All three were strong performers in the re-release market. Endgame: Encore quadrupled the best of them.
The trailer itself leaned hard on nostalgia. It featured footage from opening night on 26 April 2019, including the moment the Marvel heroes defeat Thanos and Captain America delivers the line fans had waited a decade to hear: "Avengers assemble!" That original opening weekend grossed $357.1 million at the domestic box office — the United States and Canada combined — a figure Deadline reported in July 2024. Avengers: Endgame held the record as the second-highest grossing film at the domestic box office until Spider-Man: Brand New Day overtook it.
Marvel Studios confirmed the re-release at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026, as noted on Marvel.com. The studio positioned it as a chance for fans to revisit the record-breaking film before Avengers: Doomsday arrives in December.
Avengers Endgame: Encore opens in theatres on 25 September. The presentation includes an exclusive look at Avengers: Doomsday, which releases on 18 December. Audiences who catch the film on IMAX and Infinity Vision-certified screens get an additional sneak peek at the December title.
The connective tissue is no accident. Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Victor Von Doom was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, and Doomsday is the film that will bring that character to the screen. Re-releasing Endgame — the last time Downey appeared as Tony Stark — gives Marvel a four-week runway to stoke anticipation for the next chapter.
For comparison, the all-time 24-hour trailer record belongs to a new release, not a re-release: the trailer for the 2017 film It received nearly 200 million views in its first day, Deadline reported. Different category, different scale. But 77 million for a re-release trailer is a number nobody else has come close to touching.
