Disney has expanded advance ticket sales for Avengers: Doomsday to all theatres nationwide, roughly three months ahead of its 18 December release. The move follows an earlier phase that put tickets on sale exclusively for premium-format screens — a window that generated $16.5 million in first-day sales alone, according to Variety.

The rollout began in July, when Marvel Studios launched the film's trailer and opened sales for what it calls Infinity Vision screens — bigger, brighter, more immersive auditoriums — before widening access to every cinema now carrying the title, as The Hollywood Reporter reported on 14 August.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday runs 165 minutes — two hours and 45 minutes — making it one of the longer entries in the Marvel catalogue. The film features Robert Downey Jr., the actor who built the franchise as Iron Man, now returning in a striking reversal: he plays the villain, Doctor Doom.

The December slot was not the original plan. Marvel had Doomsday dated for 1 May 2026 before pushing it back more than seven months, a schedule change that also shifted the follow-up Avengers: Secret Wars into a December window, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Ahead of Doomsday, Disney is giving audiences a reason to revisit the past. The studio will re-release Avengers: Endgame on 25 September under the title Avengers: Endgame Encore, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Endgame is the second-highest-grossing film of all time, with $2.8 billion in global receipts, trailing only 2009's Avatar.

For cinemagoers, the Encore re-release on 25 September and the nationwide ticket expansion for Doomsday together set up a long Marvel corridor through the end of the year — one film returning to screens, another selling out advance seats months in advance.
