Lady Gaga and fiancé Michael Polansky have welcomed their first baby together.

Reports published on 11 September said the singer had become a mother, after she was photographed carrying a newborn in a front sling. The news was first reported by Page Six, which published the photographs, and was later confirmed by People.

The pictures show the couple strolling in Northern California. Gaga is carrying the baby close to her chest. Polansky walks beside them. Rolling Stone also reported the sighting and the birth.

The baby's name and sex have not been made public. No other details about the birth, including the date and place, have been confirmed.

Gaga and Polansky began dating in 2019. Polansky is an entrepreneur. The couple became engaged in July 2024, after five years together.

The arrival follows a busy period for Gaga. Her Mayhem Ball tour wrapped in April. The singer, known for hits including "Abracadabra", is a Grammy and Oscar winner.

Motherhood is something Gaga has spoken about openly. She has said in interviews that becoming a mother is her greatest vision. In June 2024 she denied pregnancy rumours after appearing at her sister's wedding, saying at the time she was not expecting.

She already has close experience of family life through friendship. She is godmother to Zachary and Elijah, the sons of Elton John and David Furnish. Gaga and Polansky have said they are inspired by John's parenting.

For fans, this means happy personal news after years of tour dates, red carpets and awards seasons. The couple have kept much of their relationship out of public view. This announcement was no different, with no statement and just the photographs to confirm it.
