Pickford joins Premier League 100 clean-sheet club at Tottenham

Jordan Pickford has joined the Premier League's 100 clean-sheet club.

The Everton goalkeeper reached the mark on Saturday in a 0-0 draw at Tottenham. No goals. No fuss. Just history.

A clean sheet means a goalkeeper plays the full match without letting in a goal. Pickford's 100 came across spells with Sunderland and Everton, according to the BBC. He is only the 19th goalkeeper to reach the total in the Premier League era.

That tells you how hard it is. You need fitness, form and years of trust from your manager. One early substitution and the chance is gone.

The last man in before Pickford was Liverpool's Alisson. He brought up his 100th in a 0-0 draw with Leeds United on 1 January 2026. The BBC now lists Alisson on 104 and Pickford on 100.

The all-time list still belongs to Petr Cech. He kept 202 clean sheets for Chelsea and Arsenal, 33 more than second-placed David James on 169. Cech was also the fastest to 100, and he holds the records for the best clean-sheet rate and the longest run of consecutive shutouts.

He is the only goalkeeper to pass 200. That gap shows the scale of Pickford's achievement, even as he starts the long chase towards the very top.

Behind him, the next challenger is clear. Newcastle's Nick Pope is on 80 and is next in line for 100. Lukasz Fabianski finished on 92, after missing the whole of last season through injury before retiring.

What makes this stand out is Pickford's knack for the spectacular. He has twice won the Premier League's Save of the Season award, in 2021/22 and 2025/26, according to the Premier League. England manager Thomas Tuchel called him "fantastic" last October after a record eighth straight England clean sheet, as reported by Reuters.

For fans, this means something simple. Every week, Pickford gives Everton a clean slate to build on. On Saturday at Tottenham, that slate stayed clean once more.
