Archie's British accent steals the moment in Meghan's UK countryside video
Prince Archie shouted "Go, go!" in a distinctly British voice in a family video shared by his mother Meghan Markle. The clip gives a brief glimpse of Sussex life back in the UK.
The video captures a simple race on a country track. Princess Lilibet pedals ahead on her bike while seven-year-old Archie sprints after her, yelling encouragement. Their father Prince Harry can be heard in the background calling "Archie, Archie" as his son runs off, according to Hello!.
The footage follows a stay of a few weeks in the countryside for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5. It is the first video shared by Meghan Markle since the family's return to the UK, according to People.
Listeners noticed the accent straight away. Archie is usually heard with a pronounced American accent. That makes sense. He was born in the UK on 6 May 2019 but has lived in America since 2020 and has attended school there.
Fans heard that American sound in the 2022 Netflix series Harry & Meghan, when Archie read The Gruffalo with his mother. On the Drew Barrymore Show in 2025, Meghan Markle said her children still keep some British words, including saying "zebra" with a "zed" rather than a "zee".
Meghan Markle has also said Archie and Lilibet copy their father’s British accent.
What makes this stand out is how quickly ears pick up the switch. A few weeks back in Britain, and Archie sounds like a local boy cheering on his little sister.
