Oprah Winfrey to Debut 'AHA' at Sphere in Las Vegas
Oprah Winfrey will appear live on stage at Sphere in Las Vegas for AHA, a new two-hour immersive show playing 2-4 April, as reported by Deadline.
The show is created with musicians, artists and storytellers. It is built as a live immersive experience, the kind of programme that surrounds the audience with sound, images and performance rather than keeping the action behind a curtain.
She will be there in person. Winfrey is set to host the show live alongside the evening’s performances, putting her at the centre of the production rather than on screen.
The opening line-up mixes music and words. Grammy Award-winner Jacob Collier is slated to perform, alongside poet and author Ocean Vuong, musician Ajeet and gospel singer Wintley Phipps, according to Deadline.
Behind the scenes, the credits are organised around large-scale live events. The show is designed by director Ethan Tobman and produced by Baz Halpin, founder of Silent House Group. Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter is providing musical direction and original music, while Live Nation is presenting the Las Vegas run.
Sphere, the domed Las Vegas venue known for its wraparound screens and enveloping sound, will host AHA for one weekend only. The two-hour running time gives the team room to move between songs, readings and staged moments with Winfrey linking them together.
What makes this stand out is the combination. For fans, this means an evening led by Winfrey in the room, with live music from Collier, Ajeet and Phipps and spoken work from Vuong, all shaped for a venue built for scale.
