John Mayer will return to the Sphere in Las Vegas in April 2027 for six shows built around three different line-ups. It is his first headline run at the venue under his own name.

The run begins on April 8, 2027, with additional dates on April 10, 11, 15, 17 and 18, according to Rolling Stone. The dates are organised as a short residency, a run of shows in one venue rather than a tour that moves from city to city.

Each night is planned around three distinct sets: a solo set, a full-band set and a set by the John Mayer Trio. That means the audience stays in the same seats while the stage setup changes around them.

The solo set will centre on Mayer alone on acoustic guitar, with occasional piano and electric guitar. It is the most stripped-back part of the night, with one player and no full band on stage.

The Trio set will reunite Mayer with bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan. The April shows will be the Trio's first live performances together since 2023, a three-piece format built around guitar, bass and drums.

The April 2027 run will be Mayer's first time playing the Sphere as a solo artist. He has played the venue before with Dead & Company during residencies in 2024 and 2025. Those earlier runs were with a different group, not a solo bill.

Ticket pre-sale starts Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET, which is morning in Los Angeles and early afternoon in New York. General sale follows on Oct. 9 at the same times, with both windows covering all six shows.

Vibee Travel Packages and VIP Packages go on sale earlier, on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. PT, according to John Mayer's official site. Travel packages typically bundle tickets with hotel stays, while VIP packages usually add extras such as early entry or lounge access.

What makes this stand out is the range. For fans, this means one night moves from solo songs to full-band arrangements to a three-piece set. That structure gives first-time buyers a clear idea of what one ticket includes.
