Angie Harmon will deliver the keynote address at MIPCOM Cannes' annual Women in Global Entertainment Power Lunch. The booking headlines one of the market's established networking dates. The event is in its 14th year. It brings together women working across the global television business.

The lunch will take place at the Majestic Hotel on Oct. 12. That is the opening day of MIPCOM Cannes, which is set to run Oct. 12-15. The lunch is co-hosted by A+E Networks in partnership with The Hollywood Reporter, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

British novelist, journalist and broadcaster Elizabeth Day will moderate an informal conversation with Harmon on stage. A keynote here means a headline talk that sets the theme for the room. In this case it will flow into questions and answers rather than a formal speech alone.

MIPCOM Cannes is the international market where broadcasters, streamers, studios and producers buy, sell and launch programmes. A deal agreed there can shape budgets, episode counts and where a show premieres. This year's edition is building its conference and screening slate around that busy market floor.

One of the listed launches is Queen Silvia, billed as a special world premiere screening, according to MIPCOM. The drama is inspired by the real-life romance of Sweden's Queen Silvia and King Carl Gustaf. It comes from producers Pyjama Pictures and Unlimited Stories. It was produced for Prime Video in DACH, meaning Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and the Nordics, alongside German broadcaster SAT.1.

On the business side, Dentsu is named as the first Headline Partner of MIP BrandWorks. That is the strand dedicated to brands, agencies and content partnerships. Meta is joining Dentsu across key elements of that programme.

The speaker line-up also includes Kate Phillips, Zai Bennett and Shelley Macintyre. They will appear at MIPCOM Cannes 2026 to discuss storytelling and global IP. IP means intellectual property, the underlying ideas and rights that let a format travel through sales, adaptations and remakes.

What makes this stand out for viewers at home is the link between stage and screen. Nothing announced in Cannes airs immediately. Conversations about money, rights and schedules now shape what gets finished and released months later. That is why a lunch booking can matter as much as a premiere.
