Big Ears 2027 brings Tweedy, Glasper and Weyes Blood to Knoxville

Jeff Tweedy, Robert Glasper and Weyes Blood will perform at Big Ears 2027 in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. The music, art and film festival will run from 1 to 4 April 2027. Pitchfork published the first lineup details on 14 September 2026.

The 2027 edition is planned at a large scale. It will feature more than 250 performances across two dozen venues. All events will take place in downtown Knoxville. Music will run alongside art and film programming across the four days.

Tweedy, Glasper and Weyes Blood are among the names in the early announcement. They are joined on the bill by Oneohtrix Point Never and Bill Frisell. Thundercat and the band Wednesday are also listed. Each act forms part of a wider programme across the city centre through the weekend.

The list continues with Natalie Merchant and Mavis Staples. Courtney Barnett and Sylvan Esso are also on the bill. Jim James and Kevin Morby are listed as performers. Norah Jones and Mount Eerie are listed as well.

Brad Mehldau is also listed as a performer. Gillian Welch and David Rawlings are listed together. Both names appear in the first announcement for the April dates.

Glasper appears twice in the announcement. He is billed under his own name and as part of Dinner Party. Dinner Party brings together Glasper, Terrace Martin, Kamasi Washington and 9th Wonder. The four are billed as one group.

For fans, this means choices. More than 250 performances cannot be seen by one person. Visitors will need to plan by day and by venue. Moving between rooms is part of the design.

Passes for 2027 will be sold through a three-stage presale process. A donor presale begins on Monday, 14 September. Previous buyers then get access on the Tuesday after the lineup announcement. Big Ears sets out the pass stages and the order of sale.

What makes this stand out is the breadth. Different styles sit side by side in the same weekend. That mix draws listeners who follow several kinds of music at once. The April dates leave months to plan travel and tickets.
