Ryder Picture Company has a new name: Embrace.

The production company run by Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett revealed the new identity on 14 September 2026, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Ryder launched the original business in 2021. Swett joined soon after as his partner.

It remains a tight organisation. Embrace has half a dozen employees. It took a year and a half of brainstorming to settle on a name that could clear legal review and fit the team's philosophy on working with film-makers.

The search was slow for a reason. Clearance means no other business holds competing rights to the title. The team also wanted a word that described close collaboration on set and in the edit.

A production company typically develops stories, attaches talent and guides a film toward release. Ryder brought long experience to that work. He is a founding member of FilmNation Entertainment. His past credits include Memento and The Prestige, and he earned a best picture Oscar nomination for Arrival.

The current slate spans cinemas and streaming. It includes Boots Riley's I Love Boosters for Neon, Michael Sarnoski's The Death of Robin Hood for A24, and Ol Parker's Office Romance for Netflix, a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein.

Onslaught illustrates the approach. The project landed at A24 and gave director Adam Wingard final cut, the final say on the edit, for the first time in his career. Ryder and Swett first built the film under the Ryder Picture Company banner alongside A24 and Alexander Black for Lyrical Media, according to material republished by the company site.

Office Romance travelled with the team through the rename. Ryder and Swett serve as producers on the picture, Deadline reported in April. Swett also produced Craig Gillespie's Dumb Money.

Behind the financing, Ryder Picture Company struck a first-look film deal with Lyrical Media, an agreement that gave Lyrical first chance to finance its projects, as reported by Variety in 2024.

What makes this stand out is focus. Six people cannot juggle dozens of titles at once. They must choose a few stories and stay close to them, and Embrace captures that intent.
