Forte Corp Pictures Hires Former Matchbox Executive Brendan Campbell as Head of Production

Melbourne-based Forte Corp Pictures has appointed Brendan Campbell, a veteran production executive from the now-shuttered Matchbox Pictures, as its new head of production. The move, reported by Deadline on 3 August 2026, brings a seasoned line producer into a company with an expanding slate and a film heading to Venice.
Campbell's remit covers three areas: supporting Forte Corp's development slate, building an international arm, and expanding the company's physical production services — the crews, stages, logistics and equipment that a studio provides to productions shooting in Australia. CEO Craig McMahon leads the company, founded in 2008.
Campbell arrives from Matchbox Pictures, the NBCUniversal-owned production house with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore that closed in February 2026 with the loss of 30 jobs. Before that shutdown, Campbell provided production services on a string of high-profile television projects: Young Rock, Joe vs. Carole, Apples Never Fall, La Brea and All Her Fault — a credit sheet spanning network comedy, limited series and streaming drama.
Forte Corp's own track record gives Campbell something to work with. Past credits include Better Man, the Robbie Williams biopic, and Ron Howard's Eden. The company recently wrapped production on Place to Be, directed by Kornél Mundruczó and starring Ellen Burstyn and Taika Waititi. That film will premiere Out of Competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival in September 2026.
Forte Corp also has a sister company, Elevate Production Finance, described as Australia's leading film and TV financier — meaning Campbell's production expansion sits alongside a financing partner under the same corporate roof.
For a company whose recent output ranges from a pop-star biopic to a Venice festival title, adding a production-services leader with Campbell's television experience looks like a deliberate push to handle more volume across both film and TV.
