Tom Pelphrey Wins First Emmy for Task and Dedicates It to Kaley Cuoco
Tom Pelphrey is an Emmy winner at last. He claimed best supporting actor in a drama series for playing Robbie Prendergrast in HBO's Task on Monday night, The Hollywood Reporter reported. It was his first Emmy Award.
The category honours actors in supporting roles in dramatic series, the performers around the central stars. The trophy was handed out at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Actors Rachel Sennott and Odessa A'zion presented the award.
Pelphrey beat a crowded field of six. The other nominees were Patrick Ball, Shawn Hatosy, Gerran Howell, Billy Crudup, Jack Lowden and Carlos-Manuel Vesga. His name was the one called.
He turned his time on stage straight to family. Pelphrey dedicated the win to his fiancee, Kaley Cuoco. He called her "my love, my best friend, my partner" and described her as "very pregnant" as he held the trophy.
Cuoco had been with him for the night. She joined Pelphrey on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony and showed off her baby bump, according to Yahoo Entertainment. The couple share a 3-year-old daughter, Matilda. They are now expecting a second child, another girl.
The win closes a long wait. The Television Academy credits Pelphrey with two career Emmy nominations, according to the Television Academy. One was for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2022, for a short-term role in a drama. The other brought him to this year's race for Task, after he was named as a 2026 nominee.
His Emmys bio lists Task as an HBO Max series, the streaming home tied to HBO. That dual label is common for HBO drama now, made for cable and available to stream.
