Slow Horses Renewed for Season 8 at Apple TV

Slough House is staying open. Apple TV has ordered an eighth season of Slow Horses, its spy drama starring Gary Oldman.

The renewal was reported on 15 September by Variety. It keeps the series well ahead of what has aired. The current new season launched with two episodes, according to an Apple TV post.

Season 8 will run for six episodes. It is adapted from Clown Town, the ninth book in Mick Herron's Slough House series of novels about disgraced spies.

Oldman will return as Jackson Lamb. He leads the Slough House team. Kristin Scott Thomas plays Diana Taverner, the senior officer who runs operations from Regent's Park.

Ben Vanstone adapted Clown Town for television. He also serves as executive producer, meaning he oversees the creative and production decisions. Adam Randall is set to return as director. The series is produced for Apple TV by See-Saw Films.

The order follows fresh awards attention. Slow Horses won the Emmy for outstanding directing in a drama series. Oldman was nominated for lead actor in a drama series.

Apple has renewed early before. It ordered Season 6 less than a week after the Season 4 finale, according to Decider. It then ordered Season 7 before Season 5 had aired, as reported by Deadline. At the time of that announcement, the first four seasons were streaming on Apple TV+.
