Slow Horses Renewed for Season Eight as Season Six Rolls Out

Slow Horses will run to season eight on Apple TV.
The renewal was reported by The Hollywood Reporter on 30 September 2026. It extends the life of the series based on Mick Herron's Slough House books. A renewal means another season has been ordered, which keeps one writers' room, cast and crew together on the same story.
Attention is on season six. Its third episode is titled "Resurrection." That detail comes from the same report.
Christopher Chung plays Roddy Ho. He appears alongside Gary Oldman, who plays Jackson Lamb, Jack Lowden, who plays River, and Olivia Cooke, who plays Sid. Kristin Scott Thomas also appears in season six, as previously confirmed ahead of the run in The Hollywood Reporter.
Season six adds Lenny Rush as a guest star. A guest star is an actor brought in for a limited run, not as a full-time regular. Rush plays Reece. Reece witnessed his father's murder in the season premiere, which sets up his place in the story.
Off screen, Chung also works as a personal trainer. The books tell a different physical story. In Herron's Slough House books, Roddy is not written as physically fit. Chung worked with director James Hawes on season one to build the screen version.
That early collaboration matters. Hawes directed Chung in the first season, when the Apple TV show set its company of players. Chung has stayed in the role from that starting point through season six to the new order for season eight.
Chung also appeared at the Emmy Awards in September 2026. His red-carpet appearance was noted by Good Housekeeping on 15 September. Awards nights put television faces in front of a broad audience beyond streaming.
What makes this stand out is staying power. A drama that reaches eight seasons holds together performers and labour behind the camera across several years. For viewers, it means favourite faces return for more episodes.
