Cohen Media Group takes U.S. rights to Isabelle Huppert comedy All About Corinne

Cohen Media Group has bought the U.S. rights to All About Corinne, a comedy starring Isabelle Huppert. Deadline reported the deal as an exclusive on 15 September.

The acquisition covers the United States, meaning Cohen Media Group will handle the film's cinema and home release there. No U.S. release date has been set.

Huppert plays Corinne Maclou, a background actor — an extra hired to fill out crowd scenes — who is still chasing a breakthrough. The story follows her attempt to move from the edge of the frame to the centre of it.

The film was written and directed by Marc Fitoussi and produced by Caroline Bonmarchand for Avenue B Productions, according to the same report. Around Huppert, a group of French stars appear as versions of themselves. The list includes Sandrine Kiberlain, Anne Marivin, Emmanuelle Bercot, Diane Kruger, Ana Girardot and Vincent Dedienne.

All About Corinne originally launched at Locarno in Switzerland. Its next festival stop is Toronto, where it was set for its North American premiere. That term means its first public screening in the United States and Canada.

The U.S. deal was negotiated by Robert Aaronson for Cohen Media Group with Charlotte Boucon for Indie Sales. Indie Sales is the company handling international sales, the business of selling distribution rights territory by territory outside France. Deadline first detailed those deal terms.

For audiences in the United States, this means the path to local theatres is now organised. The release plan has not been finalised, so festival screenings come first.
