Isabelle Huppert plays a woman the camera has passed over for decades in All About Corinne, the film-business comedy from director Marc Fitoussi. Variety published its review on 14 October, after festival stops at Locarno and Toronto.

Huppert stars as Corinne Maclou, a career film extra in her sixties who still hopes for stardom. An extra is a background performer, often without lines and rarely credited. Corinne has spent her working life in that crowd.

Opposite her, Sandrine Kiberlain co-stars as herself. Kiberlain plays an established leading lady, the kind of actor who gets the close-up. The contrast drives a comedy that satirises the French film industry and its pecking order.

The film started its festival run as the closing-night selection at Locarno. That slot is the final showcase screening, usually a crowd-pleaser. It then moved to a gala slot in Toronto, one of the festival's high-profile red-carpet berths.

The Toronto International Film Festival describes the film as playful, absorbing and rife with insider wit. TIFF uses that billing on its programme page. Earlier coverage followed the same path, with a Cineuropa review in August and a Deadline review published on 18 September from Toronto.

The original French title is Ni vue, ni connue, which translates roughly as unseen and unknown. It is a 2026 comedy from France and Belgium. The American French Film Festival lists it as a US Premiere, running 113 minutes in French with English subtitles.

Fitoussi has directed Huppert before in Copacabana. His later credits include Two Tickets to Greece with Laure Calamy, and Paris Follies, which he wrote and directed. Huppert is an Oscar-nominated actress, best known for leading roles.

What makes this stand out is the casting switch. One celebrated star plays the insider. The other plays the outsider hoping to be noticed.
