Lombardy Releases 'Bazooka' Video Ahead of Ryman Debut

Nashville indie-rock band Lombardy has released a music video for its single "Bazooka", turning a suburban park into a war-film battle. The clip centres on the four-piece band under fire from a circling helicopter. Rolling Stone reported the release on 15 September.

The video takes inspiration from classic war films, mixing Apocalypse Now with Tropic Thunder and Predator. It was filmed in a park in Madison, Tennessee, just outside Nashville. One location. Four musicians. A full action plot squeezed into a public green space.

In the story, the band fights back with weaponised instruments. Singer-guitarists Jonathan Plevyak and Mike Scott fire flames from their guitars, while bassist-singer Seth Renfrow launches missiles from his bass. Drummer Steve Mascarello keeps time as the group moves to avoid the low-flying helicopter overhead.

Steve Jawn and 10:10 Creative directed and produced the video. The credit covers both the direction of the performance and the staging of the effects-heavy chase. The result plays the war-film references straight, then lets the comedy land.

The single "Bazooka" is streaming via East Iris Records / Virgin Music Group, the independent label working with the distribution company to handle the release. Lombardy teased the song on its official YouTube account, @LombardyBand, telling followers that "BAZOOKA" would be out at 11pm CST on all platforms. A separate teaser promoted the track with the line "LET FREEDOM RING & LOVE IS KING!"

Lombardy is set to make its debut at the Ryman Auditorium, the historic Nashville concert hall, on Sunday, 27 September, opening for Starbomb. The date is the band's first appearance at the venue. It follows the video release by less than two weeks.
