Fontaines D.C. share 'Tongue' ahead of Dopamine Centre album

Rosalía is the record’s only guest. She duets with the band on “Where Is Gone?” Pitchfork
The new album follows Romance, the band’s platinum-certified 2024 album. Fontaines D.C. previously released Dogrel in 2019, A Hero’s Death in 2020, Skinty Fia in 2022 and Romance in 2024. RTÉ
At announcement, the band pointed to a change in sound built on synthesiser, marching drums, samples and triggers, with several songs featuring no guitars and strings linked to 1960s Italian pop. The record was said to address artificial intelligence, environmental collapse and political violence. RTÉ
That shift follows a busy two years for the group. Romance debuted at No. 2 in the United Kingdom and gave the band a first entry on the Billboard 200, the chart that ranks albums in the United States. It later earned two Grammy nominations and International Group of the Year at the 2025 BRIT Awards.
The physical campaign for the new record is organised around several editions. The shop listing includes a Limited Edition Deluxe 2LP, a double LP pressed on black vinyl cut at 45rpm, alongside blue vinyl and standard black vinyl editions, plus cassette with alternate artwork and a standard CD. XL Recordings shop Pre-orders are listed to ship to arrive around 16 October 2026.
For fans, this means two songs are now public before the October release. The date, the label, the producer and the guest appearance are confirmed. The rest arrives in just over two weeks.
