Fauda season five has reached No. 4 on Netflix's global list for non-English-language series, its highest position to date.

The ranking covers the week of Sept. 7-13, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It is the show's best result since Netflix started publishing weekly charts in summer 2021. Season four peaked at No. 7 in its premiere week in January 2023.

The new season drew 2.1 million views worldwide for the week. On Netflix, views means total hours watched divided by running time. With a running time of just under 7.5 hours, that works out at 15.9 million hours of watch time.

The reach was wide. Season five made the top 10 in 41 countries. It was No. 1 in Israel and Lebanon.

The Middle East numbers were strong elsewhere too. On Sept. 10, the season was No. 2 on Netflix in Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, according to Ynet. On the same day it was No. 3 in Qatar, Oman and Kuwait.

The story follows Doron, played by co-creator and star Lior Raz. Netflix's guide to September releases describes an old friend's unsanctioned revenge mission in Marseille, France, that pulls Doron back in. Most of the season is set in 2025 and deals with the fallout from the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks, with two episodes taking place on the day itself.

Fauda was created by Raz with Avi Issacharoff. The Israeli thriller is recognised at home, with six Ophir Awards including best drama. Its creators later re-upped an overall deal with Netflix, meaning the streamer gets first call on their new projects.

The fifth season went into production with an early 2026 premiere planned. It launched first in Israel on Yes TV before streaming on Netflix, where it was listed among the September 2026 arrivals.

What makes this stand out is the step up. Season four managed one week at No. 7. Season five has beaten that peak and stayed in the conversation across more than 40 markets.
