Beyoncé's B'Day returns to No. 1 twenty years on
Twenty years after its first release, Beyoncé's B'Day is No. 1 again. It leads Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart dated Sept. 19, 2026, giving Beyoncé her sixth No. 1 on that chart, Billboard reported.
The move follows an expanded deluxe edition with 31 tracks, released on Sept. 4 to mark the album's 20th anniversary. That date also coincided with Beyoncé's 45th birthday.
For the tracking week of Sept. 4-10, the set earned 38,000 equivalent album units in the United States, according to Luminate, the data company that feeds Billboard's charts. That total combines streaming and sales. Streaming supplied 22,000 units, equal to 22.5 million official on-demand streams. Traditional album sales added 16,000 units. Equivalent album units are the measure that converts plays into album sales.
The same week brought returns elsewhere. B'Day re-entered at No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 8 on the Billboard 200, the all-genre album ranking. The album, Beyoncé's second solo studio set, first topped both charts after its original release in September 2006.
Radio is driving much of the renewed activity. "Morning Dew (Donk)" jumped from No. 7 to No. 1 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, the chart that tracks plays on R&B and hip-hop radio stations. It is Beyoncé's 14th leader there. She extends her lead as the woman with the most No. 1s on that chart, now three ahead of Cardi B. Drake remains the overall leader with 42.
The song also logged a second week at No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay, the format aimed at older R&B listeners. It had given Beyoncé her fourth No. 1 at that format the previous week.
"Morning Dew" began as a surprise release on July 4. It opened at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, the main US singles chart, and became her 61st top 40 entry there, Billboard reported. It started at No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs. On Adult R&B Airplay, it was her 32nd solo entry and later her 10th top 10. A remix pack featuring Jay-Z followed in August, with the song confirmed for the anniversary deluxe.
Chart history puts the album's sixth No. 1 in context. Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart began in January 2013, with its first chart dated Jan. 26, 2013. Beyoncé ranks second for the most No. 1s since then. Only The Weeknd has more, with eight.
For fans, this means choice. Her official store lists several anniversary versions, including a 4LP Bayou Blue vinyl set on 180-gram vinyl at $149.98, alongside CD and 2LP editions with a 16-page booklet. All include "Morning Dew (Donk)".
