Shrinking crew member sues Warner Bros. TV and director over alleged assault and firing

A former senior crew member on Shrinking has filed a seven-claim lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Warner Bros. Television and executive producer and director Randall Winston.

The plaintiff is Mindy Tessa McKoin, who worked across multiple seasons as Key Second Assistant Director, the crew role that keeps the daily shooting schedule and call sheets on track. Shrinking is produced by Warner Bros. Television and stars Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, according to Deadline.

At the centre of the complaint is an alleged incident at the Season 2 wrap party on June 22, 2024. McKoin alleges that Winston grabbed and groped her breast without her consent, in the presence of a co-worker.

McKoin was discharged from the production on July 10, 2026. The decision was made by executive producer Kip Kroeger, with the stated reason given as “different needs of production.”

She alleges the firing was retaliation. The complaint says she was let go for reporting the alleged sexual abuse and for complaining about inaccurate time records and pay statements.

On the pay issue, the complaint lists protected complaints about unpaid wages and unlawfully altered time records on May 26, May 28, June 10, June 11, June 19 and July 1, 2026. That puts each complaint within 90 days before her July 10 discharge, according to Deadline.

Before going to court, McKoin filed with the California Civil Rights Department, the state agency that handles discrimination complaints. She is represented by attorney Avi Gholian. She seeks unspecified damages for lost wages, work benefits, emotional distress, humiliation, mental anguish and anxiety.

Warner Bros. Television had no comment on the complaint. Representatives for Winston did not respond to Deadline’s request for comment.

The claims remain allegations. No court finding has been made.
