The demo went live on 15 September 2026, according to PlayStation Blog. PlayStation Blog It centres on Changban, described as one entire open field level from the finished game. Players can explore that space freely rather than follow a narrow path.
The demo will remain playable until 30 September. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC. The full game will launch on the same four platforms, on PC via Steam and Xbox.
The demo includes an in-progress character creation system. Players can build their own warrior and enter a creation contest, with winners to be announced on the official @WoLongOfficial X account and the official Wo Long 2 website. Team Ninja
It also supports online multiplayer for up to three players. Players who finish the demo receive a Fledgling Phoenix Helmet, a bonus item that can be used in the full game. That reward carries over. Progress may not.
The full release will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, the subscription service that offers a library of games for a monthly fee. Koei Tecmo America
The story is set in China in 208 AD, after the events of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. It is a dark fantasy RPG, a role-playing game built around character growth and demanding combat, set during the Three Kingdoms period of warring states and heroes. Team Ninja describes the fighting as acrobatic Chinese martial arts with total freedom of movement, including Insight Skills that draw on the power of Huang to increase Qi, the energy used for special actions.
For newcomers, this means no wait until 2027 to get a feel for it. Download the demo. Test the movement and the difficulty. See if this version of ancient China is one you want to return to.
