Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Sequel Announced as Director's New Studio Takes the Reins

A sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is in development, with publisher 505 Games and a newly formed studio called Indolphinity at the helm. Digital Bros, 505 Games' parent company, entered a deal worth €21.5 million in investment for the project, Reuters reported on July 28, 2026.
The sequel brings the franchise's original director back into the fold. Xia Siyuan, who directed and produced the first Wuchang: Fallen Feathers at Chinese studio Leenzee, founded Indolphinity after departing Leenzee. The new studio, which Xia describes as a homegrown team of Chinese creators, is leading development on the sequel, according to VGC.
The path here was not smooth. Chinese publication Gamersky reported in April that Xia had been fired from Leenzee, and that a large proportion of the studio's development team was laid off after refusing to switch to an outsourcing model. Xia subsequently formed Indolphinity to continue making games.
Digital Bros also acquired the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers intellectual property from Leenzee for approximately €4 million, securing the franchise rights separately from the development studio. The original game, an action role-playing title set in China during the Ming Dynasty, was developed by Leenzee. In a joint statement, Digital Bros and Indolphinity reaffirmed their shared belief in the long-term potential of the Wuchang franchise.
For fans of the original, the sequel carries both continuity and change. The director who shaped the first game is back, but under a new studio name and a new publishing arrangement. No release window, platform details, or gameplay information has been announced. What is confirmed is the commitment: €21.5 million in investment backing a sequel from a director determined to keep building in the world he first created at Leenzee — now with a fresh team and the full weight of 505 Games behind it.
