Worthington, Hemsworth and Delevingne join Schrader's Non Compos Mentis

Sam Worthington, Liam Hemsworth and Cara Delevingne will play the lead love triangle in Paul Schrader's erotic thriller Non Compos Mentis, according to Deadline.
Schrader wrote the script and will direct the film, Deadline reported. Worthington and Hemsworth play the brothers. Delevingne plays the younger woman.
The story centres on two privileged brothers confronting their mother's dementia. An affair with a younger woman fractures the family and becomes a battle for the fortune, Deadline reported. The title is Latin for "of unsound mind".
Cameras roll in New York. Production was due to begin next month in New York, Deadline reported on 16 September 2026. Schrader had earlier named 12 October as the start date in an interview with Movieplayer.
Billy Zane and Dianne Wiest are also in the cast, Schrader said in that Movieplayer interview published on 5 September 2026. No character details for those roles have been disclosed.
David Gonzales is producing the film, Deadline reported. Nadine de Barros of Fortitude International is executive producer, and Fortitude is overseeing international sales, the business of licensing distribution rights country by country.
Fortitude has already pre-sold the film, meaning rights sold before shooting, to Weltkino in Germany, Eagle Pictures in Italy and Capella in the CIS territory, Deadline reported.
What makes this stand out is the pace. Schrader is preparing to shoot Non Compos Mentis in October while already discussing another new film titled My Betrayal, The Playlist reported on 8 September 2026.
